Debra Lancaster
Debra is deeply committed to creating opportunities for others through education beginning with quality early childhood experiences and continuing with life-long learning. Her career demonstrates this passion – as an administrator for Skagit Valley College (13 years), a Coordinator for Washington State University (10 years), and as the Executive Director for United Way (10 years). As the same time, Debra has volunteering her time and talent with Soroptimist International of Mount Vernon, Leadership Skagit, Skagit Women in Business, Skagit Woman’s Alliance Network (SWAN), Helping Hands Food Bank and several others. She is proud to have been invited to serve on Skagit’s Population Health Trust, the Children’s Council of Skagit County, the “Help Me Grow” Advisory Board and other collective impact efforts. She earned a BA and MA from the University of Washington and has been recognized with the SWAN Woman of the Year award in 2002; the Mount Vernon Making a Difference award in 2019; and the United Way Ted Reep award in 2021 among others. Now happily retired, Debra enjoys walks in nature and loves to boat in the San Juans with her husband, Doug.
